In Belgium, every employer organises first aid based on the risk analysis (Code on well-being at work, Book I, Title 5). The number of first-aiders is no longer fixed uniformly: it depends on the risks, activities and number of workers.

The first-aider completes basic training and refresher courses.
The employer decides the first-aid kit contents (occupational physician's advice).
A register of interventions is kept.
